15 Games for 2015 (Part 3)

Welcome back to the final piece in the 3 part series “15 Games for 2015”, if you would like a quick recap why not read part 1 and part 2? And if you have already read them, settle in for our top 5!

Rainbow Six Siege

5. Rainbow Six: Siege

I have been excited about Siege since its inception as Patriots. Although both games are considered to be different titles I have been awaiting a new R6 game since 2011 and it looks like 2015 might just be the year of Tom Clancy. With a new engine and some new game modes like hostage rescue I am patiently perched on the edge of my seat looking for more information. There is no definite release for R6:Patriots but 2015 seems like it might be time for the Rainbow Six series to make a grand return.

4. Overwatch

Blizzard surprised us with their latest addition to the long list of games under their name this Blizzcon with the inclusion of Overwatch. Overwatch blossoms with colour and a diverse cast that offers up doses of nostalgia for Timesplitters and Gundam with a widely varying number of playable characters. It is a role based FPS that is set for beta in early 2015 that can apply to take part in now over on Blizzard’s website.

3. Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman Arkham KnightBatman is another game that unfortunately suffered several delays throughout 2014 and eventually fell in to 2015. Although these delays were frustrating Rocksteady have assured us that it was to provide the best possible game for the players. Arkham Knight is the concluding installment in the franchise and with that sees the return of Kevin Conroy as Batman. Arkham Knight will also feature a drivable batmobile and one of the most menacing looking villains to date. The other Batman games by Rocksteady have been unbelievably well done and I am sure they aim to go out with a bang with Arkham Knight. Arkham Knight will be gliding on to home consoles on 02/06/2015 with a very luscious special edition so be sure to get your pre-orders in while you can.

2. Bloodborne

Bloodborne is another game we have already had the pleasure of trying out first hand at EGX. From Software have really upped their game with this Victorian styled ARPG. With the addition of guns, new enemies and a promise to stick to the same gruelling levels of difficulty provided by the souls series you would be hard pressed to turn down such an amazing game. Bloodborne is definitely the must have game for Spring 2015 with the release being in March, the 24th to be exact.

1. Halo 5: Guardians

Halo 5 Smart ScopeThe final game on our list even surprised me. I mean after how horrendously drawn out Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s issues became I had absolutely no hope for Halo 5. Then I played the beta. In fact I devoted countless hours of my time to the beta during the short period and I can say that the multiplayer is phenomenal. As for the story we have been drip fed small bits and pieces but we know it is ambitious enough to have merited Steven Spielberg’s interest and that Master Chief will be joined by a new primary character, Agent Locke. There isn’t an exact date for Halo 5’s release but it is most assuredly set for release in 2015 and no matter when it comes out I will have the money set aside for it.

So there you have it, a who’s who of games for the up and coming year. There are so many great titles coming out that we have undoubtedly missed a few but these definitely are the ones to watch in the coming year and we hope that we have sparked a bit of interest in games you had forgotten about since E3 2014. Whatever games you choose to save for we wish you the best of luck!
